Current Residence Hall Students - Spring 2026 Meal Plan Changes: Once you return for the spring semester, you can change your meal plan with the CentralCard Office through 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, via the Meal Plan Change Request form.

Spring 2026 housing and food charges: Spring housing and food charges are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.

2026-2027 housing selection for current residents: Housing selection for the 2026-2027 academic year begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, for current residents. The sooner you sign up, the more likely you will receive housing of your choice. Priority placement for current students over incoming first-year and transfer students ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 30.

Residence Halls:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same room.
  • Thursday, Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 30 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same residence hall, different room.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 11:59 p.m.: Priority selection for students who are outside of the CMU Residency Requirement.
  • Thursday, Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Feb. 6 at 11:59 p.m.: Priority selection for returning Early Middle College students.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for space in Campbell, Fabiano and Kesseler.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for Cobb Singles (sixth, seventh and eighth floors)
  • Thursday, Feb. 12 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for space in Carey Hall (the sixth, seventh and eighth floors are reserved for incoming first-year students).
  • Friday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for two-person suites in Cobb, Troutman and Wheeler.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 9 a.m. through Monday, March 30 at 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for all remaining spaces.
  • Tuesday, March 31 at 9 a.m.: Wishlist opens. Students may sign up for the Wishlist if they want to request a housing option other than their selected choice. Students must have a housing assignment to sign up on the Wishlist. The Wishlist will close to new entries at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 1. We will continue to honor the requests based on availability. If we are able to honor your request, we will contact you via the phone number you provided in your request.

Notes:

  • Celani Hall is closed for room selection.
  • Campbell, Fabiano and Kesseler have filled.
  • Cobb Singles have filled.
  • Carey Hall space for returning students has filled.
  • The University Apartments have filled.
  • Merrill Hall will not be available for fall 2026 due to a scheduled remodel project.
  • Beginning fall 2026, the third floor of Herrig Hall will be home to the Business Residential College.
  • For 2026-2027, the Leader Advancement Scholar Community will reside on the second floor of Beddow Hall.

University Apartments:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same unit in the same building.
  • Thursday, Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 30 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to a different unit in either building.
  • Tuesday, March 31 at 9 a.m.: Wishlist opens. Students may sign up for the Wishlist if they want to request a housing option other than their selected choice. Students must have a housing assignment to sign up on the Wishlist. The Wishlist will close to new entries at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 2. We will continue to honor the requests based on availability. If we are able to honor your request, we will contact you via the phone number you provided in your request.

New Undergraduate Students for 2026-2027: The housing application process for the 2026-2027 academic year opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2. Students who have paid their $200 Enrollment Reservation Deposit will receive the Residential Community Living Guide to their CMICH email. The guide contains residential housing information and instructions for beginning the online housing application.

New Graduate Students for 2026-2027: The housing application process for the spring 2026-2027 academic year opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.
